The Top 5 Players to Watch in the 2017 NFL Season

Now that the hustle and bustle of the NFL Draft is over, it's time to get excited about the 2017 NFL season!

Whether you're looking for the best tips for your league, or want a heads-up on the betting odds, here are the top 5 players to watch in the 2017 NFL season.

5 Players to Watch in the 2017 NFL Season

Michael Thomas (Wide Receiver for the New Orleans Saints)

If you're a fan of supporting the underdog, look no further than Michael Thomas of the Who Dat nation.

Part of the all-star offense led by Drew Brees, the Ohio State alumni had a tremendous year in the 2016 season. He finished the year with a staggering total of 92 catches and 1,137 yards.

Odds are the Saints are looking to beef up their offense, and Thomas could be a key part of that. That is if they keep heading toward an increasingly pass-oriented offense.

The combo of Brees and Thomas could once again create waves throughout the NFL, so keep your eye out on Thomas.

Robert Griffin III (Quarterback and current free agent)

Alright, this one is a bit of a toss-up. The 2011 Heisman trophy winner is a bit of an anomaly these days. RG3 is one of the fastest quarterbacks in the game, but 2017 has already been a tough year for him.

As of March, the Cleveland Browns cut him from the team, and it's currently unknown what his future entails. To make matters worse, it would appear that he was only one day away from receiving a massive roster bonus. Ouch.

But team owners would be foolish to pass up the 6-season vet.

Truthfully, this pick has less to do with stats and more to do with sheer curiosity. Wherever he lands, the team will be lucky to have him given his previous track record.

Matt Ryan (Quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons)

Odds are, when you saw Ryan’s name on the list, you choked harder than the Falcons in the Super Bowl. But stick with us! He’s on here for a very good reason.

After an incredibly disappointing loss, Ryan and crew are likely hungrier than ever. Atlanta has already proved that when they play as a cohesive team, they’re a force to be reckoned with.

We truly believe that 2017 could be the year that Ryan and the Atlanta offense Rise Up! And with a new attitude and a new stadium, the Falcons are likely looking to wipe the slate clean and start anew.

Martellus 'Marty' Bennett (Tight End for the Green Bay Packers)

Never underestimate the power of the mind. Bennett is a master of the mind game. Seriously, look at his Twitter account.

In addition to helping the Patriots secure another Super Bowl victory in 2016, Bennett is all about “making football fun again”. We fully expect Bennett's tactics to give him a big advantage over his opponents.

Blake Bortles (Quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars)

The Jaguars have a lot of ground to make up for, and they know it.

Let’s face it, the 25-year old QB has A LOT of making up to do. Most of his stats lowered dramatically throughout the season, but he’s got a lot of support behind him.

The pressure is on, and 2017 is the best time for Bortles to show the Jaguars his worth.
He's got the potential, he just needs to get his head in the game.
