Creamy Tangy Barbecue Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Chicken - 2 to 3 kg, cut into 10-12 pieces
  • Plain low-fat yogurt preferably Greek yogurt - 1 cup
  • Garlic cloves, - 4 finely chopped
  • Lemon - 1/2 fresh
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • Lemon zest - 1 tsp
  • Olive oil - 1 tsp
  • Paprika - 1 tsp
  • Harissa - 1 tsp
  • Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
  • Herbes de Provence - 1 tsp
  • Ground black pepper - 1 tsp

Method:
  • Put Greek yogurt, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, olive oil, herbes de Provence, salt, pepper, paprika, and mix them until they are well blended.
  • Transfer the mixture to a large re-sealable plastic bag along with chicken pieces.
  • Shake the bag to coat chicken and place the bag in the refrigerator for 4-5 hours.
  • Put remaining yogurt in a separate bowl and add harissa and lemon juice to it, mix it well and set it aside.
  • When chicken is completely marinated, take it out of the bag and place on a plate.
  • Use paper towels to pat dry the coated chicken pieces and sprinkle some salt on them.
  • Heat the grill on medium heat and place chicken pieces on it. Let it cook for 20 to 25 minutes. Don't forget to turn when one side is cooked completely.
  • When ready, dish out grilled chicken serve it with yogurt-harissa sauce.
